Canadian international merchandise trade, April 2018
Canada’s exports rose 1.6% to a record $48.6 billion in April, while imports were down 2.5% to $50.5 billion. As a result, Canada’s merchandise trade deficit with the world narrowed from $3.9 billion in March to $1.9 billion in April.
Canadian international merchandise trade: Annual review, 2017
Canada’s annual exports increased 5.4% to $549.6 billion in 2017, mainly on higher exports of energy products. Imports increased 4.8% to $573.6 billion, with widespread gains throughout the product sections. Consequently, Canada’s annual merchandise trade deficit with the world narrowed from $25.9 billion in 2016 to $24.0 billion in 2017.

The monthly chain Fisher real dollar values (reference year 2007) for Canadian international merchandise trade are available for April.
Export and import price indexes, April 2018
Current-weighted and fixed-weighted export and import price indexes (2007=100) on a customs or balance of payments basis are now available, based on the 2007 North American Product Classification System.
Building permits, April 2018
Municipalities issued $7.8 billion worth of building permits in April, down 4.6% from March. Declines were reported in every component except commercial buildings.
Farm Product Price Index, March 2018
The Farm Product Price Index (FPPI) declined 1.6% in March compared with the same month a year earlier, primarily due to lower livestock prices. This was the second consecutive decrease following seven monthly year-over-year increases.
