High-income trends among Canadian tax filers, 2015
The top 1% of individual tax filers saw their share of total income rise by almost one percentage point from 2014 to 2015, the result of a sharp increase in the dividend income from Canadian corporations. This was the first increase in the share of total income going to the top 1% since 2006.
Socioeconomic disparities in birth outcomes
In recent years in Canada, about 9% of babies born are small for their gestational age (SGA) and 8% are born preterm. Given that these babies are at increased risk of infant illness or death, and at increased risk of health problems in later life, it is important to understand the factors that might contribute to these birth outcomes.
