For Immediate Release

Saskatoon, SK (June 25, 2015) – The Native Mental Health Association of Canada (NMHAC) has announced today that they have joined with the National Native Addictions Partnership Foundation (NNAPF) to form the new Thunderbird Partnership Foundation.

This new national organization will serve to bring together the efforts of these organizations to develop holistic healing approaches of the First Peoples of Canada as defined within the First Nations Mental Wellness Continuum and the Honouring Our Strengths Renewal Framework.

In recognition of this historic transformative step, the NMHAC has chosen to rename their organization to more accurately reflect their efforts to promote indigenous holistic approaches to healing and wellness with the First Peoples of Canada.

As a partner of the Thunderbird Partnership Foundation, the NMHAC will be renamed to the First Peoples Wellness Circle. Together the organizations that form the Thunderbird Partnership Foundation represent some of the most current and promising thinking about holistic healing and wellness within the First Peoples communities of Canada.
