On June 20, 2017, the Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) Mattawa Métis Council (MMC) contributed $1000 towards the Mattawa Splash Pad project.
The Splash Pad is a Canada 150 project that when complete will build a $200,000 facility in Timmins Park in Mattawa. Approximately half the funding is coming from the town of Mattawa but fundraising for the project is also being carried out by a group of volunteers who have solicited funds from local businesses, interest groups, associations and Mattawa residents and former residents. The MNO MMC was very happy to support this worthy project.
