The University College of the North Participates in Sacred Walk
The University College of the North (UCN) will participate in the Third Annual Grandmothers Protecting Our Children Sacred Walk. Its purpose is to raise awareness about the prevalence of child abuse and exploitation.A group of Aboriginal grandmothers in Winnipeg held the first walk three years ago. Similar events now occur across Canada and parts of the United States.
The event taking place in The Pas will start at the main entrance of the UCN campus at 11:45 a.m. on Monday, September 21. A service will follow at the Sweat Lodge grounds on the campus, followed by refreshments at the Mamawechetotan Centre of UCN. The community is invited to participate.
