Over the last few weeks, the First Nations’ leadership in Ontario came together twice to discuss effective political strategies and how First Nations can create beneficial partnerships with elected governments during the current Federal Election and post-election. The attached discussion paper is the outcome of some of those discussions.

In the discussion paper, the Chiefs in Ontario collectively developed a top ten First Nations priority list from discussions during the Think Tank and the Political Strategy sessions. This top ten priority list was created as a tool for First Nation citizens and leadership in Ontario to generate conversations on the ground about critical issues affecting their communities and how these identified issues correlate within the current federal election.
