Tribunal ponders posting of previous decision – The Chronicle Journal

A Canadian Human Rights Tribunal took place last week in Sandy Lake First Nation to hear a complaint by a band member against the band council.

The tribunal was held over two days, Oct. 3 and 4, and heard from complainant Thomas Dixon who claimed his rights were infringed upon three years ago when a confidential letter about him was enlarged and hung in a public place.

The letter was addressed to the band council from the Canadian Human Rights Commission when a complaint Dixon made in 2013 against the council was dismissed without a hearing. Dixon said the letter had been blown up to the size of three feet by four feet and posted in a local store.
