Urban Multipurpose Aboriginal Youth Centres [UMAYC] POSTPONED
2010-2011 UMAYC Call for Applications
Please be advised that the annual September 1st Call for Application for the Urban Multipurpose Aboriginal Youth Centres (UMAYC) Initiative has been postponed upon direction from the program funder, Department of Canadian Heritage (PCH).
The UMAYC Initiative completes a five year program cycle at the end of this fiscal year. Though PCH is seeking renewal of UMAYC, there exists no program authority beyond the current Contribution Agreement which expires March 31, 2010, and therefore no program for which to issue a Call for Applications.
Though no indications have been given by PCH as to when the Call may be issued, BCAAFC encourages you to prepare for the impending Call. Draft versions of the potential 2010-2011 UMAYC Program Guidelines and UMAYC Application are available from the BCAAFC office upon request. These documents will remain in DRAFT form until UMAYC renewal is approved, at which time there could be minor adjustments or changes based on the new contract. Distribution of these DRAFT documents in no way obligates BCAAFC to issue a 2010-2011 Call for UMAYC Applications in the future.
PLEASE NOTE that if/when the 2010-2011 Call for Applications is issued there will likely be a shorter timeframe between the Call and the deadline, so being prepared ahead of time will be beneficial.
If you have any questions about the delayed Call for Applications or would like your organization added to the distribution list for when the Call is issued, please feel free to contact Naomi Graham, UMAYC Provincial Coordinator at [email protected]
