Barbara Kentner was the victim of a drive by assault on January 28th 2017, by a Caucasian man who threw a large trailer hitch at her body. Now doctors say she is dying as a result of her injuries, her organs shutting down and having limited options and time to be saved.
In Thunder Bay, racism is an ongoing problem. In the Indigenous community, having objects thrown at them while walking is all too common. Several aboriginal youths have been found dead in Thunder Bay in the last decade; many of those deaths are still labeled as undetermined and are cold cases now.
Stop killing First Nations people. You might think you’re not killing them, but if you stay silent about the hate crimes and murders committed against First Nations people, you help perpetuate the violence and systemic racism against them that leads to them dying. We need to unite against this and stop the systemic racism that is killing the First Nations people.
