Saying it is a testament to their record of responsible, financial stewardship, the University of Regina’s Board of Governors has approved a balanced budget for the 2019-20 academic year. It is the 25th straight year that a balanced budget has been delivered.

Thomas Chase is the university’s vice-president of academic and provost. He says this can be attributed to one thing in particular.

“We’ve done it through a combination of controlling costs and having great enrollment growth over the last decade.” Chase said. “We have students coming to the University of Regina from not only across Canada, but around the world and it is largely through that growth that we have been able to balance that budget for a quarter-century.”
