Women’s Annual Memorial Marches – February 14, 2015
A call to end violence against women
February 5, 2015 — February 14 is a day during which many women will be celebrated with love and respect. It is also a day, like so many other days, when millions of women, especially Indigenous women, will face physical, mental, emotional and spiritual violence. Each year, Canada continues to see increasing deaths of many of our most vulnerable; over 3000 women are known to have gone missing or been murdered in Canada since the 1970s.
Memorial March organizers request that supporters please respect the need for communities and participants to demonstrate their overwhelming sense of grief and loss. It is asked that you please do not bring your banners, flags, or leaflets.
OSSTF/FEESO encourages members across the province to challenge Violence Against Women and to act in support of the Memorial Marches in their communities. For a list of community events, please visit
