The Aurora Arts Society invites the artist community (and the folks who love them) to gather at Northern United Place from 7pm-9pm on April 11 for another For Arts Sake Artists’ Social. This will be the fourth Artists’ Social hosted by the AAS, with more planned for the future. The Artists’ Socials reflect the desire and commitment of the Aurora Arts Society to establish a gathering place for artists to meet, greet and show their stuff in a budget-conscious style. The For Arts Sake Artists’ Social is an opportunity for artists to socialize, exchange ideas and exhibit work in a friendly, comfortable and informal setting, explains Society President Terry Pamplin.

The Socials bring visual art to the fore, introducing members of the public to some of our city’s emerging and established artists while they showcase their recent work. By connecting artists and art lovers, members of the AAS hope to further strengthen support and encourage appreciation of Yellowknife’s diverse and vibrant visual arts community.

The For Arts Sake Artists’ Social on April 11 will feature art exhibits and on-the-spot, work-in-progress demonstrations.

“The For Arts Sake Artists’ Social blends artists and the community in a way that fosters dialogue and education that spans many artistic traditions,” says Aurora Arts Society Vice president Vivian Gustafson. “This exchange builds relationships that are important for the continued growth of a strong arts community.”
