Yukon Government and CYFN Release Education Reform Final Report

WHITEHORSE – Members of the Education Reform Project Executive Committee; Chief Joe Linklater, Chief Liard McMillan and Minister of Education Patrick Rouble, today released the Education Reform Project final report.”This final report is an important step to further enhancing our education system for all Yukoners and it begins at the community level,” Linklater said. “Working in partnership, the Yukon government and Council for Yukon First Nations will be able to work with community members to make meaningful and sustainable changes in terms of how education is delivered in the territory.”
“The Yukon government is committed to Education Reform Project outcomes and continuing its work with education partners and stakeholders so that we can continue to improve the education system for all Yukon students,” Rouble said.
The executive committee of the Education Reform Project will call a meeting with education stakeholders in March 2008 to begin shaping a strategy for addressing the educational needs of all Yukoners.
“The Education Reform final report will help all education partners build on current successes and assist with the development of a common vision for the future development and delivery of education in the territory,” Linklater said.
The Education Reform Project final report is now available at the Department of Education or at www.education.gov.yk.ca & www.cyfn.ca.
