Scope of Project:
Hydro One Networks Inc. and its affiliates (“Hydro One”) have issued a competitive procurement process for a Request for Proposal (“RFP”) on November 27th, 2019 to establish a collaborative relationship with one (1) qualified Supplier to Engineer, Procure and Construct (EPC) a Building that will house 500kV Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS), and Protection and Control Equipment.
The Scope of the proposed Project covers but is not limited to the EPC of One (1) new 500kV Combo Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) and Relay Building at Bruce B Switching Station (SS). The new Building shall be specifically designed and constructed within the perimeter of the existing energized 500kV Switchyard at the Bruce Nuclear Generating Station, to house the 500kV GIS Switchgear, and other related equipment in the Building. The Building will be equipped with two (2) Roll-Up Doors, a 5-ton Gantry Crane, and a 5-ton Monorail Crane. Construction Labour requirements will be in line with EPSCA.
Hydro One will be seeking Proposals to provide an EPC Contract for a full Turn Key Project of this Building with an expected completion date by January 24th, 2021 for the first floor of the Building and an expected completion date of March 24th, 2021 for the complete Building.
The Contractor shall be responsible for the final design, engineering, fabrication, supply, delivery, construction, erection, installation, testing, and commissioning of all of the components of the building as specified in the Request for Proposal (RFP) package. The Contractor shall make its own determination of the actual scope and magnitude of the project. The Contractor’s services shall be complete in all respects and shall ensure that the proposed construction shall be performed in a safe, cost effective and efficient manner.
