This one-day, online workshop allows educators to develop a greater understanding of the knowledge systems that help to shape the cultural lens of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Providing educators with the skills to authentically embed First Nations perspectives into their teaching, this professional learning opportunity allows participants to develop teaching and learning content that is reflective of First Nations peoples’ histories and cultures. After all, Indigenous Australian students must be able to see the representation of their rich cultures in their classrooms. Delivered by Deb Belyea, a proud Torres Strait Islander woman, and experienced senior teacher, this workshop provides teachers with Culturally Responsive Teaching approaches, such as: 8 Ways of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Learning and the Interconnectedness Framework.
