Folklorico’s two-hour workshop will share learning about kagapir and kapmalo-malong, gathered from our recent cultural immersion trip to Lake Lanao, home of the Maranao Indigenous People (People of the Lake).

Abdul Jabar D. Dimalna, Maranao Culture Bearer director of Salimpokaw Cultural Ensemble, shared these teachings.

FFC will provide all fans and malongs for the duration of the workshop. Participants are welcome to bring their own! This workshop is offered on a pay-what-you-can basis. FFC recommends $30 per participant, with proceeds going towards FFC year-round programming.
