Event: Indigenous Gathering on Pathways in Business

An afternoon of knowledge sharing on careers in business, finance, and accounting for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis people

Audience: All British Columbian residents who identify as Indigenous, including First Nations, Métis, and Inuit

Indigenous Gathering on Pathways in Business is a knowledge-sharing gathering that will explore career pathways and applications of business, finance, and accounting for BC’s Indigenous community members, youth, and students. The event aims to create an opportunity for dialogue, and to introduce and create excitement for career options that build community wellbeing, sustainability, and long-term economic prosperity. This event will also appeal to Indigenous community members looking to bring business or finance services to their community.

CPABC is privileged to be planning this event in collaboration with the following partners:

Indigenous Gathering on Pathways in Business will be hosted on the virtual platform Hopin, and the agenda includes a panel and plenary discussions, breakout rooms, and a Resource Centre for event guests. To ensure a safe sharing space for Indigenous participants, all moderators, speakers, and panelists will be Indigenous, and certain sessions will be held for Indigenous guests only. All event guests must be 18 years or older due to privacy considerations.

To participate in the Resource Centre as an exhibitor, organizations must be providing educational programs/certifications, funding sources, or other services specifically for Indigenous communities and/or students. Prior to the event there will be a mandatory orientation webinar for exhibitors to discuss the agenda, best practices for virtual booth set up, and protocols for Indigenous community engagement.
