Position Summary

The Capital Accounting Department at the Community Health & Services Centre in Kelowna, BC is looking for a Permanent Full Time Accounting Assistant to join their team! Apply today!

• Proof of Completion of 2 year’s of the CMA or CGA Program;
• Your Resume indicating four years’ recent related experience;
• A Cover Letter stating your availability to start in a new position;
• Certificates/Diplomas/Transcripts must be from accredited Schools/Colleges/Universities.

Typical Duties Include:

• Performs complex reconciliations on a variety of general ledger accounts;
• Prepares period-end and year-end working papers and supporting schedules as required for completion of financial statements and auditor reporting purposes;
• Performs complex reconciliations on a variety of bank accounts;
• Performs banking activities;
• Performs cash forecasting duties by updating bank activity actuals and projections that are used for future cash flow decision making;
• Prepares journal entries, such as purchase card adjustments, accruals, site transactions and other entries as required;
• Prepares external reports and remittances such as GST and PST, non-resident withholdings, union dues (payable and receivable), and annual government surveys;
• Perform other related duties as required/directed.

Hours of work: Monday to Friday – 08:00 to 16:00 hours

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience:
• Grade 12,
• Completion of two years of the CMA or CGA program,
• 4 year’s recent related experience, Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience

Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to deal with others effectively.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
• Ability to organize work.
• Ability to operate related equipment.
• Ability to supervise
