The incumbent will provide guidance on implementing the Beneficiary Assistance (BA) services to help vulnerable beneficiaries seek support following a disaster. They will also support the implementation of the national case management program.

In this role, you will :

  • In collaboration with personnel and designated partners (e.g. ministère de la Sécurité publique), support the Deputy Director in designing BA processes and practices.
  • Ensure implementation of BA standards and procedures.
  • Work with personnel in charge of assisting beneficiaries.
  • Support the development of the BA volunteer team.
  • Collaborate with the Volunteer Resources services team to develop and implement BA training.
  • Provide beneficiary support services.
  • Apply, maintain, and implement emergency management standards and procedures.
  • Represent the CRC Quebec Zone on various committees and with partners and stakeholders, as requested.
  • Develop various documents and tools for CRC personnel.
  • Facilitate working committees, workshops, and meetings with internal or external partners.
  • Produce various expert, analysis, and statistical reports.
  • Coach and supervise direct reports and volunteer team leads, as needed.

We are looking for:

  • A university degree. Any other combination of training and experience may be considered.
  • At least five (5) years of relevant and recognized experience in emergency preparedness (emergency relief services, emergency management, recovery).
  • Work experience in program development.
  • Work experience in committee facilitation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (bilingual in English/French).
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience with the MS Office suite.
  • Experience working in a volunteer setting (an asset).

Working Conditions:  

  • Most of the work is done in an office environment or remotely; must be available to travel as needed.
  • The schedule is 35 hours/week, but work hours may vary during local and national emergency operations.
  • Possibility of responding in difficult, unstable (environmentally, physically, socially, etc.) and uncomfortable conditions that may impact physical and psychological conditions in the field.
