At the CRC, we are guided by our Fundamental Principles of Humanity, Impartiality, Neutrality, Independence, Voluntary Service, Unity, and Universality. We help people and communities in Canada and around the world in times of need and support them in strengthening their resilience.

Reporting to the Director, Partnerships and Philanthropy Development, the successful candidate will act as an advisor within the Philanthropy team and play a collaborative role with the Communications department. The Advisor will act as an intermediary between their Communications, Direct Marketing, and Donor Experience colleagues to provide advice, offer support, and ensure consistency across these areas within the Philanthropy Development team. They will also be responsible for planning, carrying out, and overseeing the major event in Quebec. As a member of the Philanthropy team, the Advisor will work closely with colleagues from all areas of fundraising (direct marketing, major gifts, planned giving, corporate giving, community engagement, and special events) to achieve the CRC’s objectives and support its mission.

  • Participate in bimonthly meetings and the year-end strategy meeting for the Communications team.
  • Collaborate on communication campaigns or tools, as needed.
  • During emergency operations, act as the intermediary between Communications and Philanthropy (site visits with partners, media interviews, content creation).

Annual Fundraising Event:

  • Manage the Annual Fundraising Event for the CRC in Quebec.
  • Support leadership and the Vice-President in their relations with the campaign committee and major donors.
  • Oversee the creation process, from ideation through to execution.
  • Maintain close ties with Procurement and negotiate with external suppliers during the bidding process.
  • Negotiate with suppliers.
  • Follow up on donor visibility.
  • Support the Event Coordinator in their duties.
  • Advisory role with the National Donor Experience team:
  • Participate in National Donor Experience team meetings.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, including the operating plan and donor relations calendar, ensuring that the national strategy also aligns with the Quebec objectives.
  • Collaborate on producing national reports.
  • Review the French versions of documents.
  • Provide spontaneous translations for presentations or specific fundraising needs.
  • Create video concepts and carry out project management.

What we are looking for:

  • A bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or event management.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Proven diplomatic, political, and negotiation skills.
  • An excellent understanding of the volunteering and fundraising sectors.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, be resilient, and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information.
  • A proven ability to think analytically and strategically under pressure, without access to complete information.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills in English and French.

  • The ability to manage priorities and objectives to align varying viewpoints and create a unified approach.
  • Excellent judgment, strong analytical skills, and a solution-oriented approach.
  • Drive, enthusiasm, and good interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Office suite.
  • A valid driver’s licence.
  • Availability during emergency operations.
  • Willingness to travel across Canada and internationally (required).
