Employment status: Part- Time (17.5 hours per week)- 12 Month Contract
Salary band: $35,022 – $43,778 / year (pro-rated)

The incumbent is overall responsible for aiding in the efficient and cost-effective operation of Community Health & Wellness programs, in collaboration with the Senior Manager to support the Transportation program.

In this role you will:
  • Support Supervisor to ensure vehicles are clean and well-maintained.
  • Work with Supervisor to accurately report Driver hours in the electronic timecard system.
  • Assist Supervisor with booking and confirming Drivers’ schedules
  • Support the operations when necessary with data input and answering phones.
  • Provide program information to clients and/or transfer them to appropriate program staff or community partner.
  • Respond to volunteer inquiries and assists with application forms, program information.Engages in retaining volunteers with events, feedback and communication.
  • Gather information on community programing and resources and assists in referring clients.
  • Responsible for auditing, validating and submitting volunteer reimbursements to Supervisor.
  • Assist Supervisor to screen and interview potential staff and ensures appropriate information has been gathered, in line with the RC Policies and Procedures
  • Support Supervisor to compile monthly reports as required.
  • Review and monitors organizational standards of practice to minimize risk to client, volunteer and staff.
  • Support the Supervisor in facilitating the Mandatory Training from Quality and Risk.
  • Promote and encourages staff participation in activities that foster a safer work environment.

What we are looking for: 

  • Minimum qualifications for this job are completion of a three year community college diploma and one three years of job-related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Customer Service experience is an asset.
  • Working knowledge standard office procedures and MS Office computer software system.
  • Good organizational, time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of the Client Information Management System (CIMS) is an asset.
  • Self starter and able to work in an environment with ambiguity.
  • Proven ability to be a supportive and productive team member.

Working Conditions

  • Duties are principally conducted at the St Catharines  Office of the Canadian Red Cross in Ottawa. Periodic travel within HNHB will be required.
  • Most of the work is performed in an environment which is mostly clean and comfortable.
  • The work can require irregular hours, including week-ends and holidays without notice
