Job Description

• Inspect motor in operation, road test motor vehicles and test automotive systems and components
• Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems
• Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer’s specifications
• Perform scheduled maintenance service
• Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements
• Review work orders and discuss work with supervisor
• Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions
• Diagnose faults and malfunctions and confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit
• Repair or replace mechanical units or components
• Test and adjust units to specifications
• Complete reports to record problems and work performed
• Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer’s specifications
• Perform scheduled maintenance service

Requirements

-Education: Completion of secondary school is required.

-Experience: The candidate must have the Trade Certification or be eligible to obtain the Trade Certification. A combination of over four years of work experience in the trade and high school, college or industry courses in automotive technology is required to be eligible for trade certification.

-Knowledge of current automobile technology is required

-Knowledge of computer systems and specialized diagnosis equipment is required

-Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Hand-eye co-ordination, Attention to detail, Standing for extended periods, Manual dexterity.

Salary: $27.00 – $29.00 hourly, 40– 45 hours per week.

Important information:

This position will require flexibility on schedule. The employee will work 8-9 hours per day, from Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM or 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM depending on the volume of workload. Overtime and weekend work may be required based on the clients’ needs.
