Job Description
0905978 B.C. Ltd O/A Houston Motor Inn located at “2940 Hwy 16, Houston, BC, V0J 1Z0” is currently looking for one bookkeeper for their Motel.
Job Duties
Duties to be performed in efficient manner
Perform full-cycle bookkeeping tasks such as preparing invoices, A/R, A/P, payroll and bank deposits
Calculate and prepare cheques for payrolls, supplier invoices, government remittances as well as other expenditures using relevant software
Process full cycle company payroll
Recording day to day financial transactions and balancing accounts
Co-ordinate bank deposits and report financial results to management
Process new hires profiles, terminations, file ROE’s
Process monthly government reports and remittances (source deductions/GST/ PST/WCB)
Investigating, correcting and reporting the discrepancies found in accounting, finances, and money
Process accounts payable invoice for expenditures related to business
Process accounts receivable
Prepare financial statements, month end reports, weekly reports
Monitoring the cash flow, collecting late payments and reporting bad debts
Assist in preparing budgets and business planning
Process general accounting entries
Process all other accounting tasks as needed
Employment requirements
Completion of secondary school is required.
2-3 years of full-time experience as bookkeeper or accounting clerk. A university degree or college diploma in related field may decrease the experience requirement to 1-2 years
Excellent communication skills in written and oral English are must
Experience with A/R, A/P and general accounting functions is an asset
Experience with GST/PST remittances is an asset
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, manage time effectively, and work independently or as part of a team
Strong ability to organize tasks and work within defined timelines
Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to details
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Knowledge of Quickbooks or other relevant software would be an asset;· Extremely organized, excellent coordination & collaboration skills, Superior oral and written communication skills, Strong proficiency in English.
Ability to handle confidential material and situations with tact and discretion.
Strong ability to take initiative and complete tasks as assigned.
