JOB SUMMARY: The Cannabis Addiction Outreach Worker reports to and works under the direction and supervision of the Cannabis Education Program Coordinator. The Cannabis Addiction Outreach Worker will assist the Cannabis Education Program Coordinator in the performance of statutory, advisory services, and operational duties related to Six Nations Health Services Addiction Services in the education/knowledge sharing, prevention and promotion of cannabis and addictions service delivery. Specific objectives include engaging children/youth/adults/elders, harm reduction and prevention for individuals who use or may be completing use of cannabis medically or recreationally, the development of culturally appropriate resources and to educate the community about health effects and safety risks of cannabis within the policies and procedures established by Six Nations of the Grand River.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Post-Secondary School Graduate in Social Work, health, Addictions or related field.

Other Related Skills:

• A current cardio-pulmonary resuscitation certificate.
• Understands the importance of confidentiality, and the ability to work with tact and discretion.
• Knowledge of computers an asset.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Good knowledge of the Six Nations Community.
• Native is preferred, specifically a Six Nations of the Grand River member and resident.
• Willingness to maintain ongoing professional competency.
• Must have a vehicle and a Class “G” driver’s license.
