Position Summary

Penticton Health Centre has a opportunity for an experienced Registered Dietitian supporting our Home Health Program. This is a relief part-time position with a Monday, Wednesday, Thursday schedule and is eligible for a comprehensive benefits plan that includes coverage for basic Medical Services, Dental Services, and Extended Health.

Local travel is required in this role within the Penticton area. Access to personal vehicle is required. The Dietitian is a member of a multidisciplinary health care team and provides nutrition care and support to individuals and groups according to established policies, standards and procedures. Utilizing clinical techniques and knowledge, the Dietitian provides nutrition services through: nutrition assessment; care planning and charting; intervention, goal setting and monitoring; counseling and education programs; consults and communicates with the multidisciplinary care teams; acts as a resource to other health professionals and communities within Interior Health.

The shift types for this position are days, with shift times being 09:00 to 17:00. Please note this position will end upon the return of the incumbent.

The Dietitian provides input to the Professional Practice Leader by participating in the development of nutrition practice guidelines and procedures; research and continuous quality improvement initiatives for the program.

Baccalaureate degree in nutrition and dietetics.

Successful completion of an accredited hospital based dietetic internship program (or equivalent acceptable to the facility).

Registrant of the College of Dietitians of British Columbia.

One year of clinical nutrition experience in a health care environment preferred.

Valid BC Driver’s License.
