Position Summary

Interior Health Authority is urgently seeking a Clinical Psychologist to support our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) clients in Kelowna, B.C.

In accordance with established vision and values of the organization and the College of Psychologists of British Columbia established standards of professional practice, this position is responsible for providing psychological services, including assessment, individual and group therapy, treatment planning and behaviour management interventions for the assigned clinical practice area(s).

In addition to direct service provision, the Clinical Psychologist contributes to ongoing quality improvement, program development, evaluation, and research. The position supports a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach to service delivery within the continuum of Allied Health services.

This position is based at our Kelowna Community Health Centre and will primarily support two Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) teams. The ACT teams utilize a team-based care treatment model for complex clients with severe and persistent psychiatric illness, and concurrent health and social challenges within outreach, community and home based settings. The ACT teams provide frequent, ongoing mental health assessments, case management, housing assistance, family support and substance use services.

This is a permanent full-time opportunity (Grade B, Grid 18). Days of work are Monday to Friday from 08:00-16:00 with weekends and stat holidays off. We are seeking a motivated team player who brings strong psychological assessment skills including cognitive, intellectual, memory, DSM diagnosis, treatment planning. The successful candidate will demonstrate significant capability in the provision of individual and group evidence based psychological therapies and behavioural consultation, with clients presenting complex psychiatric/substance misuse concerns.

Qualifications

Ph.D. in Psychology or equivalent from a university or school recognized by the College of Psychologists’ of British Columbia, with an approved pre-doctoral internship in clinical psychology.
Current registration with the College of Psychologists’ of British Columbia (or eligible for registration).
Five years recent related experience in clinical psychology in the assigned clinical practice area(s).
