Early Childhood Educator – Infant and Toddler
Olive Grove West Childcare Ltd. is looking for a qualified and licensed Early Childhood Educator to join our Olive Branch team located at 885 22nd St West Vancouver, BC V7V 4C1. Our daycares are committed to providing a superior class of childcare with a healthy mix of education, relaxation, and physical exercise in an extremely safe environment. We provide childcare services to aged 6 months to 5 years old.

- Education requirement: Completion of College Diploma – ECE
- Language Requirement: English
- Work setting: Preschool and daycare center
- Work experience requirement: Minimum 2 years experience working with children 1-5 years old

- Valid BC ECE license to practice

Your Responsibilities Included (But not limited to):
- Support each and every child’s physical, social, cognitive and emotional development;
- Plan the age appropriate activities which enhance children’s abilities through stories, art, music etc.
- Provide a safe environment for children to feel secure and home-like;
- Communicate the parents in the morning and afternoon to discuss their child’s day through the conversations and the daily board in the room;
- Always keep an eye on and be mindful of the children for any concerns or problem, if so, get an advice from the manager/ supervisor and inform the parents;
- Encourage the children to have a good manner by telling/showing them the words/sign languages;
- Work as a team player to deliver a mindful, developmentally appropriate and emergent curriculum for children;
- Communicate with co-workers, especially the ECEs in the same program and discuss the daily activity;
- Daily communication with parents about their child’s day through the communication book;
- Create documentation panel, yearbook, and blogging for the children on an ongoing basis;
- Maintain a healthy and clean environment for children and staff;
- Follow Licensing regulations and adhere to Olive Branch’s policy and procedure guideline
- Guiding and caring for children under 5 years with a positive, respectful and proactive approach;
- Attend to the staff meeting to talk about any issue, concern, plan or upcoming event;
- Advance preparation and practice for the fire drill once a month.
