Sanitation workers are responsible for ensuring our seafood production facility is cleaned and sanitized in a timely fashion in accordance with HACCP and CFIA regulations.

Job duties:

  • Wash and sanitize equipment, tools, and surfaces inside and outside the plant according to the company’s established Sanitation Program
  • Handle and mix industrial strength chemicals
  • High pressure washing and sanitizing
  • Remove debris and garbage from the plant floor
  • Disassemble and assemble equipment
  • Report broken, damaged, or unsafe equipment
  • Strictly follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) for working in a food processing plant.
  • Perform safety and security checks
  • Work with minimal supervision

Requirements:

-Education: No formal education is required

-Previous cleaning experience in a food manufacturing environment is an asset. Training will be provided.

-Ability/Aptitude to operate equipment such as pressure washers, forklift, and various hand tools to assemble and disassemble equipment is preferred.

-Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:Work under pressure, Handling heavy loads (up to 27kg: 60 lbs), Physically demanding, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Attention to detail.

-Personal Suitability: Reliability, Team player, Values and ethics, Flexibility, Initiative, Judgement, Organized.

– Work Site Environment: Odours, Wet/Cold

-Language:Basic level of English is required

Wage:Hourly rate of $21.10 – $23.00 per hour, 40 hours per week.

Accommodation and transportation to and from the work location are available at a subsidised cost. Travel expenses covered by the employer if the worker needs to relocate.

Important information:Work schedule is 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM from Monday to Friday. Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required depending on operational needs.
