Position Summary

Interior Health is hiring a dual Cleaner/Food Service worker in a Relief Part Time role for 100 Mile House Hospital. If you have a valid Food Safe Certificate, minimum grade 10 education, and have a flexible schedule that includes working weekends and holidays, then apply today!

This is a temporary position and the hours of work are: Rotating day shifts from 13:00 to 18:00 for 48.75 hours bi-weekly until the return of incumbent.

As a team player you will perform a variety of duties within a Food Service and Housekeeping Operation such as:
• Portioning and serving meals and beverages within a dining room and/or cafeteria operation;
• Counts, weighs and/or measures ingredients for assigned food preparation area;
• Washing and peeling vegetables and fruit;
• Assembles beverages and food items – tea, coffee, sandwiches, salads, bag lunches, items for Meals on Wheels;
• Washing dishes and utensils;
• Setting up and delivering meal carts;
• Cleaning of food service areas.
• Clerical duties such as answering the telephone, filing, writing information on menu cards
• Maintaining clean and sanitary conditions in areas such as patient rooms, washrooms, corridors, hallways, and common areas;
• Cleans areas including floors, stairways, walls, windows and ceilings by sweeping, vacuuming, dust mopping, spot washing and wet washing;
• Cleans and disinfects washrooms;
• Strips and makes beds;
• Picks up soiled laundry and linens;
• Cleans Nursing area and isolation rooms including washing of furniture;
• Cleans upholstered furniture and carpets by vacuuming, shampooing, and brushing.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Food Service Worker Role
Education, Training and Experience:
• Grade 10,
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• Food Safe Certificate

Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to deal with others effectively.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
• Ability to organize work
• Ability to operate related equipment.

Cleaner Role:
Education, Training and Experience:

• Grade 10,
