JOB SUMMARY: The Grant Writer reports to and works under the direction and supervision of the Budget and Funding Controller within Central Finance.
PURPOSE & SCOPE OF THE POSITION:
The Grant Writer is responsible for identifying, researching, preparing and submitting grant proposals and applications for other funding opportunities to support the operational needs of Six Nations of the Grand River (SNGR) administration departments. This position will be responsible for maintaining and reporting on all grants, ensuring compliance with grant requirements and contributing to the goal of obtaining funding.
The Grant Writer will carry out their responsibilities in alignment with the 2019 Community Plan including future revisions and updates.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Communications or related field and two (2) years of relevant grant or proposal writing experience
Other Related Skills:
- Exemplary communications skills both written and verbal
- Ability to manage and execute multiple tasks within the deadlines provided
- Demonstrated commitment to professionalism, integrity, accountability, transparency, accuracy and confidentiality
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office suite software
- Comfort and familiarity with using and learning new software databases
- Demonstrated interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
- Ability to take direction and prioritize competing demands
- Commitment to SNGR values, culture, community bylaws and standards
