Position Summary

Interior Health Authority is seeking a qualified and experienced Hemodialysis Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team of healthcare professionals at Kelowna General Hospital in Kelowna, BC.

As the Hemodialysis Licensed Practical Nurse you will assess, plan, implement and provide nursing care to patients/clients receiving hemodialysis. As a member of the multidisciplinary team, the LPN – Hemodialysis provides practical nursing services during the pre-dialysis, intra-dialysis and post-dialysis periods. This position operates in accordance with the competency guidelines and the Standards of Practice as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), and according to organizational policies, procedures, standards and unit specific protocols.

This is a relief part-time (0.79) opportunity until November 1, 2022 or return of incumbent. Shifts of work are rotating days and evenings; shift times are: 07:00 to 15:00, 14:45 to 22:45, and 07:00 to 19:00.

Qualifications

* Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses with the full range of current licensed practical nursing competencies, and successful completion of a Health Authority Hemodialysis Training program plus one (1) year recent related experience working as a Licensed Practice Nurse in acute care, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
* Current full practicing licensure with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
* Current CPR certification required.
