Long Haul Truck Driver

Salary:

$25.25 hourly for 50-60 hours per week

Relocation costs covered by employer, travel expenses covered by employer, joining bonus

Specific Skills

• Operate and drive trucks to transport goods and materials,
• Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo,
• Plan travel schedules and routes,
• Use GPS and other trip planning aids,
• Receive and relay information to central dispatcher,
• Perform emergency roadside repairs and preventive maintenance,
• Perform brake adjustments,
• Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy,
• Perform pre-trip, en-route and post trip inspection and oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment,
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption,
• Obtain special permits to transport cargo on international routes

Additional Skills

Class 1 license or any other equivalent with air-brake endorsement, A good knowledge of communication equipment would be an asset, Ability to travel for extended periods

Security and Safety

Basic security clearance, criminal record check, drug test
