Marketing Associate, Events & Awards

Salary Range: $45,760 – $61,000

Canadian Council for Indigenous Business (CCIB) is a national Indigenous, non-partisan association. Our mission is to promote, strengthen and enhance a prosperous Indigenous economy through the fostering of business relationships, opportunities, and awareness.

The Marketing Associate, Events & Awards is responsible for supporting the Events and Awards team with the administration and execution of CCIB’s events and award-related activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting the day-to-day technical, administrative, and logistical operations of CCIB events and awards, focusing on maintaining the online event registration system, database management, event website updates and onsite event support.

Event Administration and Logistics:

  • Maintain and update event calendars, critical paths, work back schedules.
  • Maintain and update the online registration system and answer inquiries regarding event registration.
  • Support attendees, sponsors, and CCIB members with any registration issues
  • Track registrations and ticket sales and provide regular report updates.
  • Coordinate with the finance department on invoice requests and follow up where needed.
  • Monitor events and awards emails to ensure timely responses.
  • Ensure all vendor invoices have correct information and are submitted to the finance coordinator in a timely manner.
  • Input data, update contacts and ticket sales within the CRM system (M-power)
  • Support Events and Finance by maintaining the budget input of expenses.
  • Work with the events team to execute onsite event registration.
  • Work with the events team on coordinating onsite volunteers
  • Coordinate with the events team to schedule monthly Coffee Connection webinars.

Awards Administration and Logistics:

  • Assist with Award nomination processes through the Awards portal
  • Research and promotion of award nominations and submission deadlines
  • Track all nominations on the awards portal and follow up with nominators to ensure correct completion of the nomination
  • Schedule and assist with jury meetings
  • Assist the Director with award video scheduling, interviews, and travel.

    Other:

  • Mail and prepare items to be shipped when required.
  • Support the Marketing and Communications team as needed.
  • Assist other departments with Events/Launches/Webinars.
  • Miscellaneous event-related duties as assigned for continuous improvement of marketing strategies and implementation.

Skills & Work Experience:

  • College or Event Program Diploma and/or experience in Events or related discipline.
  • Tech-savvy with the ability and interest to learn and use new technologies efficiently and quickly.
  • Strong technical computer skills to manage the online registration process.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required.
  • Familiar with MPower, Hootsuite, WordPress, Wufoo, and Webex.
  • Must be well-organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, work independently, and follow through to resolve day-to-day administrative matters.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to adapt to new assignments and apply best practices to refine and improve work processes and procedures.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Willingness to travel (minimal travel required); work a hybrid model (home and Toronto office).

 Considered an Asset:

  • Familiarity with Indigenous business and relations
  • Working in a member-based organization
  • Bilingual (English and French)
