Position Summary

Who Are We Looking For?

We are seeking a Relief Full Time Mental Health and Substance Use (MHSU) Treatment, Support, & Recover Clinician to join our Mental Health Team in Nelson, B.C. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of related mental health and substance use experience and available to work Monday through Friday from 08:30 to 16:30. What Will You Work On?

In accordance with established vision and values of the organization, as well as within a client and family centered care model, the Treatment, Support & Recovery Clinician functions as a member of the larger Hospitals & Communities Integrated Services (HCIS) health care team. As a member of a MHSU multi-disciplinary team the Clinician’s purpose is to ensure that persons with severe and persistent mental health problems and/or problematic substance use issues have access to timely, responsive, evidence based treatment and clinical supports across the continuum of available services. The Treatment, Support & Recovery Clinician provides, at the advanced practice level, assessment, treatment, case management and, as required, urgent response to the most complex clients. This includes clients with frequently co-occurring disorders who may also have serious functional impairment in the domains of physical health, personal, family, financial, occupational, and social life. The Treatment, Support & Recovery Clinician functions as a primary clinician utilizing a variety of specialized treatment modalities/therapies for individuals, groups of clients and/or their families.

Education, Training and Experience:
Masters degree from an accredited educational institution in an Allied Health, Behavioural, or Social Science field relevant to the position.

Two years’ recent related experience in a mental health and substance use environment or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Current valid B.C. driver’s license.
