Position Summary

Casual Occupational Therapist needed to work in Long Term Care at Pleasant Valley Manor in Armstrong and at Parkview Place in Enderby.

This position is suitable for a new grad or a seasoned therapist. We are seeking an Occupational Therapist who works well within the team but also able to work independently with good people and communication skills. Ability to coach and educate clients. Willing to learn new skills.

Day and hours can be flexible. Usual shifts are two full days in Armstrong and two half days in Enderby. Work is done with an excellent team of Physiotherapist and Rehabilitation Assistant. Orientation and training will be provided.

Casual employees receive 12.6% of their straight time pay, exclusive of all premiums, in lieu of scheduled vacations and statutory holidays. Upon completion of 180 hours, there is option of purchasing medical, dental and extended health benefit plans. Once hired into a casual role, employees are eligible to apply for internal postings including permanent part-time or full time positions. There are many opportunities with Interior Health that begin with casual on-call positions and lead to regular employment.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a recognized occupational therapy program
• Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC).
• Valid BC Driver’s license where required.
