Position Summary

Interior Health Primary Care Physiotherapists work independently and collaboratively as part of a medical based team providing physiotherapy services. We have a relief, full time opening available. This position will provide coverage until November 2022, return of incumbent.

Days of work are Monday to Fridays 08:30 to 16:30 hours. (Hours and days of work and work location are subject to change.) We offer an exceptional employer-paid benefits package, recognition of previous experience in determining starting salary, and generous vacation entitlement after your first year of employment. Relocation allowance offered to an eligible candidate.

What Will You Work On?
Practice will be within a nine General Physician Clinic in downtown Nelson. This is a collegial, well established clinic with diverse services on site, including audiology, pharmacy, lab, respiratory services. Clinic services include an IPCC Diabetic Nurse, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy and Lab to provide a team-based approach and maximize patient care.

As a Primary Care Network Physiotherapist you will provide physiotherapy services including initial assessment to support Physician(s). You will see patients a couple of times utilizing therapeutic inventions that contribute to providing wider and quicker access to services for patients with chronic and musculoskeletal conditions and/or barriers to exercise.

How Will You Create Impact?
Patients are provided the right care by the right provider with the most expertise at the right time. Holding a specialized body of knowledge and utilizing skills, the PCN Physiotherapist frees up Physician’s time to see more patients in need. With flexibility, the Physiotherapist is able to support the Nelson Medical Associates Clinic in days of work, hours of work, and work location. It is a collaborative relationships that is unique and creates an impact for the community of Nelson.

How Will We Help You Grow?
The PCN Physiotherapist has the support of the Physiotherapy Professional Practice Leader and the network of PCN Physiotherapists across the Kootenay Boundary Region. Therapists come together to support one another and create linkages and connections. Clinics and Interior Heath work together to support professional development and operational needs.

Who Are We Looking For?
We are looking for a Physiotherapist with current registration with the College of Physical Therapists of BC (CPTBC). Or an eligible Physiotherapist currently registered in another province who can apply for CPTBC.

Note: Any position that is required to enter a LTC/AL/MH facility to provide services, the successful candidate of that position will be subject to the PHO Order regarding mandatory vaccination.
