Position Summary

At Cariboo Memorial Hospital we are seeking a new Casual Radiological Technologist to join the Medical Imaging Team.

Casual employment includes: short-notice, on-call availability; workload coverage during a temporary absence; and/or providing relief coverage in a specific position. Casual employees receive 12.6% of their straight time pay, exclusive of all premiums, in lieu of scheduled vacations and statutory holidays. Upon completion of 180 hours, there is option of purchasing medical, dental and extended health benefit plans. Once hired into a casual role, employees are eligible to apply for internal postings including permanent part-time or full time positions.

What Will You Work On?
Working under general supervision and practicing in accordance with the standards of professional practice, the Radiological Technologist performs radiographic/fluoroscopic and related duties working in conjunction with the radiologist and other health care professionals. For example, general duty x-rays, fluoroscopic, biopsies, assisting the Radiologist with special procedures, and in addition supporting patient care in the Operating Room.

Cariboo Memorial Hospital serves patients and families across a large region and includes several Aboriginal communities, as well as an aging population. We are a busy department with lots of work around. As a Casual employee you will have opportunity to work a good amount. We will train the new Radiological Technologist on day shift and as experience is gained offer additional work during evening and weekend shifts.

CMH is approved for a redevelopment project that includes a three-storey addition to the existing hospital campus and renovations to the existing facility.

We are looking for a Radiological Technologist who is eager to gain experience. Is a team player and self-starter. Have good communication and prioritization skills. • Graduate of an accredited medical radiography program.
• Current certification with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
