Position Summary

Interior Health is looking for a permanent full time Regional Manager, IMIT End User Computing to join our Information Management & Information Technology team. This position is located at the Kelowna Warehouse (Rids) in beautiful Kelowna, B.C.

About the Role:

The Regional Manager, End User Computing is responsible for the advancement of process, practices, and measures to ensure a positive and effective provincial IT customer experience. This includes Interior Health (IH) and other BC health authorities including IH supported organizations, such as Northern Health and Provincial Health Services Authority. The Regional Manager provides advice and recommendations to the IMIT Leadership Team and other management groups in Interior Health (IH) concerning the application of information systems technology to meet clinical and operational requirements. The Regional Manager ensures the continuing strategy development for computing devices, virtual desktop services, numerous business and clinical solutions and applicable cloud services that define end user computing. As an IMIT manager, you will model the IMIT culture of connectedness, transparency, purposeful innovation and continuous learning.

The Regional Manager will actively develop strategies, goals, standards of practice, and service delivery expectations; negotiate internal and external service level agreements; define and implement customer service best practices; oversee P3 IMIT service implementation and ongoing delivery; and lead a diverse team of technical staff.

Some Key Duties may include:

Provincial
• Represents Interior Health in the development of provincial (PHSA Technology Services) end user and virtual computing strategies, goals and standards to ensure the optimum delivery of appropriate quality and consistency for B.C. Health Authorities.
• Participates in provincial strategic and operational planning with other health authorities and partner vendors, for the efficient and cost effective delivery of computing devices.
• Works closely with PHSA, partner vendors, and other health authorities to ensure that end user computing Service Level Agreements and outcomes are achieved; proactively improving services ensuring that evolving customer requirements are achieved.
• Contributes to and is responsible for the evaluation, design, and implementation of the tool sets for measuring and monitoring end user computing performance and achievement of initiatives. Reports findings and makes recommendations with regard to performance against planned activities and SLA’s. Actively identifies areas for improvement.
• Participates in provincial governance committees and working groups to develop standards and set direction.

IH and IMIT customers (all other HA’s, physicians, P3 partners, etc.)
• Accountable for the provisioning and support of services directly related to end user and virtual computing and for the alignment, re-engineering, and implementation of standardized customer technology service processes, practices, and service offerings within IH and its customers.
• Responsible for the evaluation, design, and implementation of tool sets for measuring and monitoring system performance and achievement of end user and virtual computing initiatives. Develops and publishes regular performance metrics. Reports findings and makes recommendations with regard to daily service delivery performance against planned activities and SLA’s. Works with PHSA, vendor partners, and internal units to improve overall daily service delivery performance.
• Provides consultation/expertise on complex projects and other IT activities championed by other IMIT teams.
• Responsible for IMIT P3 facilities end user and virtual computing implementations from standard deployment thru vendor management to final acceptance and sign-off.
• Provides leadership, direction, and supervision to assigned team members and PHSA designates utilizing effective management activities such as coaching, mentoring, skills and leadership development, and performance management. Responsible for the appropriate allocation and management of resources.
• Responsible for providing operational and project support for the technical backend of various clinical supported applications, including evaluation, onboarding, upgrading, standardization, and deprecation.
• Performs other related duties and/or projects as required.

Qualifications

Education, Training, and Experience:

• Graduation from a recognized degree program in computer informatics, business management, or a related field.
• Seven years of recent experience in a related management role supporting a large, complex, multi-site environment;
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience with preference given to healthcare experience.
• ITIL certification.

• Experience in facilitating multi-disciplined workshops to develop solutions to problems and/or consensus on new processes.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a highly dynamic, fast paced, continually changing environment.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on listening, questioning, and negotiating skills.
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
