Position Summary

Are you a critical care nurse who is easy-going, adaptable, and enjoys working as part of a high-functioning and cohesive team? If yes, then we have an exciting nursing opportunity for you within our Electrophysiology team here at Kelowna General Hospital in the heart of the Okanagan valley.

Kelowna is home to the Interior Heart and Surgical Centre (IHSC) at Kelowna General Hospital and the Electrophysiology Program provides residents of the British Columbia Interior with the cardiac care they need, right here in the heart of the Okanagan Valley.

This position works in the Electrophysiology Program.

You will practice in a variety of clinical settings and are responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of client care. Working in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, you will ensure the delivery of client–centered care by assisting individual clients and their families respond to changing health care needs. As the successful candidate, you will demonstrate a specialized body of knowledge and base your practice on nursing science and related content from other sciences and humanities.

Qualifications

Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

Advanced preparation in the Critical Care specialty area, one year recent related clinical experience in the assigned practice environment (such as CSICU, CCU, Cardiac Diagnostic Procedures or Cardiac Catheterization Lab) on a unit similar in size and scope to the facility, and as required by the practice environment successful completion of the recognized KGH Cardiac Course (such as Cardiac Surgery Advanced Theory or CCU); or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
