Position Summary

Located in Cranbrook, East Kootenay Regional Hospital (EKRH) is responsible for providing core medical and surgical specialty services to patients throughout its service area.

We are seeking reliable and motivated Rehabilitation Assistants to join the Inpatient Acute team at EKRH.

The priority for this Rehabilitation Assistant position will be working under the direction of Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists with post-surgical clients recovering and mobilizing from hip or knee surgeries, stroke and frail elderly. Some time is required to support the Speech-Language Pathologist in communication therapy. An ideal candidate will be comfortable in the acute care setting with strong clinical background. This is an opportunity to build on a wide range of skills.

Casual shifts are scheduled on an as-needed basis between 08:00 to 16:00. This position could be called in to work any day of the week from Monday to Saturday. Casual employees receive 12.6% of their straight time pay, exclusive of all premiums, in lieu of scheduled vacations and statutory holidays. Upon completion of 180 hours, there is option of purchasing medical, dental and extended health benefit plans.
