Position Summary

We are seeking reliable and motivated Rehabilitation Assistants to join our cohesive Physiotherapy Rehabilitation Team within the town of Trail, BC.

Rehabilitation Assistants work in Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital (i.e. Acute Inpatient Care) and/or Interior Health operated Long Term Care facilities local to Trail. Under the clinical direction of a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist, the Rehabilitation Assistant carries out designated components of a rehabilitative treatment plan and/or program as directed. Identifies and reports observable social, emotional, cognitive, physical and functional factors which might impact clients’ therapeutic program and progress.

Shifts will be available on a short-notice on-call bases and/or blocks of shifts pre-scheduled to relieve leaves of absences. Casual employment means work requirements can vary between Zero and 37.5 hours per week. Receive 12.6% of straight time pay, exclusive of all premiums, in lieu of scheduled vacations and statutory holidays. Upon completion of 180 hours, there is option of purchasing medical, dental and extended health benefit plans. Opportunity to apply internally for regular openings as they become available.

• Completion of a recognized, two-year Rehabilitation Assistant Diploma Program.
• Valid Driver’s License as required.
