Position Summary

Our Rehabilitation Assistant takes clinical direction from our Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist and carries out rehabilitative treatment plans and programs. Functioning as a member of the multidisciplinary team in meeting the needs of the residents and assisting the therapists in monitoring and evaluating residents’ progression. This position will provide temporary coverage until May 2023, or return of incumbent. Days of work are rotating.

What will you work on?
Swan Valley Lodge operates embodies a resident-centred approach designed to support residents’ choices, help people function at their highest level, and provide the best quality of life possible. As the Rehabilitation Assistant you will assist Swan Valley Lodge’s long-term care residents and slow stream rehab clients with care and some ADLs such as assisting with dressing and getting ready for breakfast. You will be coordinating exercise programs, equipment maintenance, assisting with mobility when appropriate, and assisting with wheel chair cushions and pressure relief mattresses.

You will contribute to the multidisciplinary team by helping residents maintain their quality of life and dignity. Being the one Rehabilitation Assistant at the worksite you will contribute a specialized body of knowledge in supporting residents’ mobility.

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a healthcare professional who is a self-starter with ability to work independently and recognizes their scope of practice. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are an asset. The successful candidate will have completed a two year Rehabilitation Assistant Diploma. • Completion of a recognized, two-year Rehabilitation Assistant Diploma Program.
• Valid Driver’s License.
