Position Summary:

The Department of Criminology at the Brantford Campus of Wilfrid Laurier University invites applications for two full time tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant Professor level. The criminology program is one of Laurier’s largest social science programs with strong undergraduate enrolment and a successful MA program. The successful candidate will be:

A strong scholar with a promising record of research excellence;
Capable and willing to teach and supervise students in a range of substantive areas in our Master of Arts Criminology program;
Willing and able to teach required courses in the undergraduate Honours BA program; and
Able to contribute to developing and diversifying our undergraduate program offerings found here: Undergraduate Calendar – Department of Criminology

Applicants must have a PhD in criminology or a discipline related to criminology by the date of the appointment. The appointment will begin July 1, 2021, subject to budgetary approval.

A research plan outlining the candidate’s prospective or in-progress research for the next three to five years (max 2 pages)
Two samples of recent publications or works in progress
A teaching dossier, including i) official teaching evaluations for courses taught, ii) a statement of teaching philosophy and iii) a sample syllabus for a course that the candidate has previously taught (if available)
The names and contact information for three referees
