Work Location: 6243 Netherhart Rd, Mississauga, ON L5T 1G5 and 1821 Shawson Drive East, Mississauga, ON, L4W 1T9.
Type of Employment: Full time – Permanent
Estimated Start Date: As soon as possible
- Install, troubleshoot, repair and overhaul entire heating, ventilation, air handling, refrigeration and air conditioning systems: Troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair of components on truck and trailer refrigeration units.
- Install, maintain and repair equipment in refrigerated trucks used to transport food or medical supplies: Maintaining transport refrigeration unit on trucks and trailers by performing diagnostics using scanners, electronic test equipment, and on-board computers, completing preventive maintenance, component replacement, and service to refrigeration equipment.
- Measure and lay out reference points for installation
- Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components: Installing various new units on trailers, trucks, vans
- Measure, cut and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment
- Start-up system and test for leaks using testing devices
- Recharge system with refrigerant, check and test regulators, calibrate system and perform routine maintenance or servicing
- Repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning: Maintains transport truck and trailer refrigeration units and truck APU’s by reviewing shop orders; listening to operator complaints; repairing failures; removing, replacing, testing for Freon leaks, assembling, and installing parts and components involving soldering , welding and the use of refrigeration equipment.
- Coach and instruct apprentices
- Provide customer service
- Drive a mobile truck to and from customers’ locations
– Education: Completion of high school is required
– Experience and certification requirements: Have the Trade Certification or be eligible to obtain the Trade Certification. Completion of a three- to five-year apprenticeship program or a combination of over three years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in mechanics is required to be eligible for trade certification.
– A valid ‘G’ driver’s license is required. If the candidate does not have a valid Ontario license, he/she must be eligible to obtain one.
– Ozone Depletion Prevention (ODP) Certificate is required. If the candidate does not have an ODP card, he/she must be eligible to obtain one.
– Work conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding; Handling heavy loads up to 75 lbs; Manual dexterity; Attention to detail; Bending, crouching, kneeling; Fast-paced environment.
– Work Site Environment: Dusty, noisy, Cold, hot, at heights
– Personal suitability: Dependability, reliability, judgement, team player, organized.
Salary: $30 – $32 per hour, 40-44 hours per week.
