We are one of the oldest Cummins dealers in Edmonton, and we also repair and service Caterpillar, Detroit and most diesel engines. We are a member of AMVIC (Alberta Motor Vehicle Industry Council)

Sethi Group of Companies Inc. o/a G.B. Truck and Diesel is seeking Truck Mechanics to join our team at 16808 113 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5M 2X3. All candidates must be willing to join a team environment to strengthen and grow our current crew with a positive attitude and character.

We offer:

  • Wage: $27.50 per hour
  • Weekly schedule: 35 – 40 hours per week
  • Vacancies: 3
  • Employment conditions: Day, Evening, Morning

  • Full time permanent position
  • Start date: as soon as possible

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Perform routine maintenance
  • Inspect machines, engines, transmissions etc. and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues
  • Inspect various parts of trucks, including brake systems, wheel bearings and steering mechanisms to ensure they are in the proper condition to operate effectively
  • Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability
  • Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner
  • Perform through maintenance on machinery, equipment and systems
  • Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components
  • Replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery
  • Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to machine or vehicle users
  • Diagnose malfunctions in defective equipment by inspecting and testing using devises such as motor analyzers, handheld computers and chassis charts to determine how to address problems
  • Undertake other duties as assigned (e.g. repair of hydraulic systems, painting vehicles etc.)
  • Test drive vehicles to ensure they are running properly and to find issues to determine the solution
  • Measure vehicle emissions to ensure they are in the proper limits
  • Ensure parts conform to factory specifications by inspecting and verifying clearances and dimensions
  • Keep logs of work and report on issues

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Ability to speak English
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experienc
