The Warehouse Clerk is responsible for supporting the global supply chain and logistics operations of the Canadian Red Cross Society’s Emergency Preparedness and Emergency Operations with a specific focus on warehousing and inventory management. The Warehouse Clerk supports the inventory management and control, warehousing, materials handling, kitting and customer service to improve productivity, quality and efficiency of the emergency programs.

In this role, you will: 

  • Receive and verifies orders of medical and non-medical stock, stocks items on shelf.
  • Perform Kitting activities including but not limited to picking of items, packing, labelling, and shelving kits, according to packing list and flag discrepancies to manager.
  • Maintain and update materials, essential information on stock items and pass information to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel and develops knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX for Inventory Management.
  • Complete regular inventory stock (cycle) counts and reports on results.
  • Contribute to a safe and healthy working environment, maintain a clean area, warehouse equipment and supplies; and report safety and space issues to the manager.

What we are looking for: 

  • The minimum qualifications for this job include a college diploma or undergraduate degree in a related field, and 1-2 years of job-related work experience in warehousing and/or logistics or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Warehousing certified training or equivalent is considered an asset
  • Valid Ontario Counterbalance Forklift Operators License (Electrical and Propane); or ability to obtain
  • Valid first aid certification or willingness to obtain certification
  • Strong inter-personal and communication skills in English required
  • Self-motivated, resourceful and works independently, including recognizing and prioritizing needs as they emerge
  • Excellent mathematical skills and analytical skills required with strong attention to detail
  • An excellent record keeper
  • Computer skills, proficiency in MS Office suite with an advanced level of MS Excel, Microsoft AX Dynamix an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and establish harmonious and effective working relationships both in and outside the organization
  • Service oriented, respect, inspire trust, dependable, and use judgment

Working conditions:

  • Most of the work is performed in a warehouse environment.
  • Physical demands of the position require lifting of supplies and materials up to 75lbs.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours on short notice.
