Job Description

Dan Foss Couriers & Freight located at 101-1588 Derwent Way, Delta, BC V3M 6Z7 is a a B.C. owned and operated business established in 1967, we have provided superior service to our customers for over 50 years. We are urgently looking for a Warehouse Supervisor to add into our team.

Job Duties

• Co-ordinate, assign and review the work of workers engaged in the shipping, receiving, storing, distributing and maintaining inventories of warehouse stock products;
• Processing purchasing transactions; Co-ordinating distribution work; dispatching crews; scheduling crews and routes; and other related activities
• Plan, manage and supervise a team of warehouse workers in the warehouse
• Resolve work-related issues, prepare and submit progress and other reports and co-ordinate activities with other supply-chain work units
• or departments
• Move inventory by scheduling materials to be moved to and from warehouse; coordinating inventory transfers with related departments
• Maintain inventory by conducting monthly counts; reconciling variances; inputting data
• Train new warehouse workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies
• Meet quality control standards in the warehouse as per company policy
• Requisition supplies and materials
• Ensure smooth operation of systems, equipment and machinery and arrange for maintenance and repair work
• Secures warehouse by turning alarms on; testing systems
• Verify all incoming shipments to be accurate by comparing the invoice to the order and ensure all goods are in excellent condition
• Ensure cleanliness, tidiness, and safety of work environment
• Perform the same duties as the workers supervised, when required to meet the operational requirements

Employment Requirements

• Completion of secondary school is required
• 1-2 years of experience in the warehousing, logistics, or a related occupation are required
• Excellent communication skills in English are required to read, write and communicate
• Knowledge of computer, MS Excel, MS Word etc
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
• Ability to supervise a team of more than 5 workers at a time

Remuneration and Benefits

Position is entitled to received 4% vacation pay of the gross salary each pay period. Overtime rate of 1.5 times the regular pay is applicable after 40 hours of work per week.
