Indigenous Peoples Day
As public gatherings of 150 people are now allowed in the COVID-19 restrictions. The annual Indigenous Peoples Day event in Slave Lake was able to go ahead on June 21. It was in Schurter Park.
The event included a powwow presentation, Métis jiggers, and a live music – Cree, Métis and country. Also, there was a free BBQ.
The event was organized by Slave Lake Native Friendship Centre, Métis Nation of Alberta Region 5 and Scotia Bank.
