2022 Indigenous Peoples Survey
21 March 2023
The 2022 Indigenous Peoples Survey (IPS), conducted by Statistics Canada, is currently in collection and the Government of Nunavut is encouraging Nunavut Inuit to participate.
Topics of the survey include employment and unemployment, educational background, skills and training, health, and language, as well as questions about interest in and preparedness for government employment.
Survey questions relating to government employment were developed in partnership between Statistics Canada, Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated, the Government of Nunavut, Pilimmaksaivik, and Employment and Social Development Canada.
Previous survey results have helped to inform governments and Inuit organizations to improve policy and programming. By taking part in the survey, Nunavut Inuit can help identify ways to increase Inuit employment within government.
A letter has been mailed to those chosen for participation in the IPS with their unique secure access code along with instructions on how to participate in the survey. Online completion of the survey is encouraged. Statistics Canada interviewers will also be connecting with respondents either in person or over the phone.
To complete the questionnaire by phone or for survey-related enquiries call 1-833-977-8287. For technical assistance or to obtain your secure access code call 1-877-949-9492 or email infostats@statcan.gc.ca.
