The 2024 National Summit on Indigenous Mental Wellness brought together Indigenous communities, organizations, leaders, and service providers to connect and share their knowledge on the theme, Moving Research into Action: Honouring our ways.
“Indigenous Youth Perspective” is a video report, created by We Matter, that captures the voices of Indigenous Youth and Elders. It explores how mental wellness for Indigenous people can be improved, with a specific focus on youth perspectives and their key takeaways from the summit.
The video features youth from We Matter: Morgan LaBoucane, Larissa Wrightman, Sean Bernard, and Pietra Banks, along with Adam Gauthier from 2 Spirits in Motion Society and Jenna Chisholm. It also includes valuable insights on our youth from Elders Susan Nanmak Peffer, Bredner Lewis, and Deborah Gordon-Ruben.
